Okay! So I said in my last blog if anyone read it, that I would give the details of my trip in my blog. Well I promised so I shall deliver. Well let's see where do I start. Well first and foremost, I have to get my passport. Which I should have any day now. But basically I will be leaving on Friday morning April 3rd, 2009 from RDU on Japan Airlines, and arriving Saturday night April 4th, 2o09. For those of you that are curious its a 24 hour flight, not counting the possible (yet I'm almost sure of) delays. This is my first time on a plane. I haven't ever gotten motion sickness, or anything like that, but I keep having these dreams that I do. So, I'm gonna admit I am nervous about that. And as soon as I can get into my apartment, I'm taking a shower, cause you know after 24 hour flight a chick isn't going to look or probably smell too good lol, sorry to be so blunt but a sista gotta tell the truth! I will be updating my blog hopefully daily so that you and all my peeps at work, and family can keep up with me. I will posting A LOT and I mean A LOT of pictures and video, so you have no choice but to check my blog everyday, and since I will be a day ahead, it will be waiting for you! lol
Okay, so back to business. During April - July in Japan Cherry Blossoms are blooming and actually become quite an event. National Parks have events, and all kinds of stuff. Cherry Blossoms in Japanese are Sukura. I love Cherry Blossoms if you can't already tell by all my blogs and pages and stuff. They are just so beautiful, magical and graceful. So any who, that is another reason why I picked the dates I did. Hopefully I can bring some back and dry them out and keep them. Also the school Genki Jacs isn't so busy. So a lot of more personalized attention for learning. I can't wait to go and make so many new friends. A question I am getting a lot right now is, "Kira, are you coming back?" Answer: YES! of course! But! will I want to? Probably not, I mean think about it. Although I have to admit I could live over there hands down, no question. But I have too much here, and too much responsibility to just up and dump it all. I will however, make it a point to keep coming back and visiting. I get two weeks vacation every year, why now right! ha ha.
I have a couple of pictures of my new Japanese friends Kayo from Kyoto, and Mie from I'm gonna be honest I can't remember but I know its something like Gtif or something like that honestly I have never hear of it so. Kayo's Picture is very small and really can't see good but hopefully you can make it out. She has three adorable dogs. The second is Mie with her friends, and she is the one with the green purse. She is actually in the states right now in Chicago working for Honda. As of yet, she doesn't have any plans on returning to Japan, but hasn't decided. Beside Mie is her doggie, which is back home in Japan, and she misses very much. I think she will go back! ha ha

HOW COULD YOU SAY NO TO THAT CUTE LITTLE FACE! NOT ME!
Okay so those are friends so far. Kayo has offered to show me around Fukuoka. Fukuoka is the city I will be in. Some actually called it mini Tokyo. BUT WAY LESS EXPENSIVE! Although through and through Japan itself isn't cheap. But just like America, they have dollar stores! HA HA so I think I'm good. There is actual a store in Kobe, yes the home of the ever cherished Kobe beef, that sell American goods.
I actually while I'm in Japan go to Disneyland Tokyo. I have never been to a Disney park before and I figure when in Rome or in this case Tokyo. Plus I really want to see Shabuya and Harajuku. And I'm preeettty sure I didn't spell those right, but I'm gonna be honest I don't feel like looking them up right now. But those are very famous points in Tokyo.
Of course I will be walking almost everywhere, so I'm really looking forward to the weight loss. Ha ha. But that is ok. The apartment I will have is walking distance from the school. The beach is about 45 min away on bus, and so its gonna be awesome. Fukuoka also has an inside ski area, slopes thing. So if you can't find me look there first. There will so be a video and pics from that! So skiing all year round! WHOO!
So basically in a nutshell I will studying, sightseeing of course, and making new friends. there is so much to see alone in Japan I just can't wait. At the school I will be learning so much more than the language, but the culture as well. They have cooking classes, tea ceremony where you learn how to make the tea, and kimono! So that will be awesome. I just can't wait to go, I know I keep typing it, but I just can't! And for anyone that has a dream to travel and go somewhere please don't give up. I haven't and I keep saying no matter what I will go, and I mean it. But before I go I have so much work and leg work ahead of me. And I'm not going to lie the way the US economy is, it is making worried for my trip; for the simple fact that well the dollar sucks. And you just never know. But I am being optimistic. Well that is all for now. If you have any questions let me know. Next blog I hope to have some pics of the books the school uses, which I ordered, and by the way only come from Japan! And some links that I came across, that I also think will be helpful to fellow friends that are trying to learn Japanese.
For some reason I feel as though I have just babbled through this whole blog, ah well, I thought this is what they were for. Okay well until next time. I keep everyone updated!
