Okay, so this bloggage is like 3 weeks over due! I promised to keep you updated while in Phoenix and soooo didn't do it. I guess I was having to much fun. So let's see where do I start......
Let's start at the airport at RDU. This is the first time I have ever flown and needless to say I was honestly really excited and nervous. The plan ride honestly really wasn't bad. We had a layover in the ATL (what what) and that airport was sooo nice. RDU you have some work to do. Now the Phoenix airport, them biotches got's they shiz together! And I'm sure people do, but they way they run things around there can't possibly see how people can mess up. They just run a tight ship, that is all I'm gonna say.
Okay so arriving in Phoenix is like a complete 360 from the everyday mundane of North Cackalacki. It was around lunch time when we arrived and it was soooo beautiful. I have the complete well almost complete 99.1% complete photo collection of the trip. Most is of the landscape, but it was too wonderful to miss.
Day one was basically flying there, once at the hotel, I crashed, my dumb ass self forgot the gum to keep my ears a poppin' and so I ended up with a migraine. I digress. So we ended up going to the Olive Garden later that night and then hanging at my bro's crib until about 10 or so.
Day two is when we started to get things going. We went to the mall across the street from the hotel, and walked around there. Nothing special really. Oh and did I mentioned it pretty much rained the whole time we were there and that hasn't happended in 20 years!! What is the freakin odds right? We then went to Scottsdale where my bro worked. It was a very beautiful place. There are just mountains all around you! On the way there we spotted a wicked outdoor mall. This place was HUGE! So on the way back from Scottsdale we stopped there. It was almost in the Tempe area. After all that walking around and shopping, we went back to my bro's apartment and chilled out. My dad gave them xmas early and bought them a vacuum and needless to say when we got back the apartment they felt the urge to clean lol. Later on that evening we decided to go eat the Hard Rock Cafe. Now I have never been to one but I must say I could go er'day! So of course I copped some swag and we went on our way. The actual downtown city part was just as spectacular as the Mountains. Luckily there wasn't really anyone on the road and so when I got turned around looking for a park I wasn't in a dill pickle. I told my brother and his girlfriend that they could stay with us at the hotel for the next couple of days so we could all be together and plus they could get free breakfast! ha ha
Now this next part of the story is so f***in' funny, before you read the rest go pee, or don't drink anything or eat anything while reading this. Okay prepared? Okay proceed.....
We were staying in a suite at the hotel, and me and my dad stayed in the bedroom, and my bro and his girlfriend took the pull out couch. We all went to bed about 10 or so. I was sleeping in the bed by the window and my dad was sleeping in the bed by the door. My dad doesn't like a lot of pillows so he threw them on the floor close the corner by the door. I honestly don't remember what time it was, but my brother came into the room and started to PISS in the corner! My dad kicked him and my brother went "What the F***?", that's when my dad was like son the bathroom is across the hall! He then proceeded to the bathroom. Needless to say we are still having a laugh about that. Our theory to the mess is that my bro being half asleep went into the room and saw the WHITE pillows on the floor and mistook them for the toilet. Halarious. If you arn't laughing then that is something you had to be there for. And the funny thing is...HE WAS SOBER!!!! ha ha none of us were drinking or had been. It was a great end to the second day! And honestly nothing really else topped it that week.
Day three we went to where his girlfriend worked and went to some hang outs they liked to go to. We always eneded up going to the apartment to hang out. Day three we went over to the area my bro lives and went to the walmart. It was HUGE. Well what walmart isn't but something interestin they had over there that we don't, is a Wal-Mart, just a grocery store! They called it like Wal-Mart Market or something. It was quite interesting. Now this is the day I learned that the sales tax in AZ is a whoping 10%. Insane! Now me being the Apple product loving person I am, I whipped out my iPhone ( which came in EXTREMELY handy while away) and went to the App Around Me to locate the nearest Apple store. I know but I wanted to see what it looked like.
We found one at the Biltmore Camelback Fashion Park. Now, the name of the Mall for me was like Oh okay this a mall whatever. Pretty standard, you know the Brookstone, your Cheescake factory, Macy's; you know the basics. Now this was an outdoor mall as well. Actually 9 times out of 10 the malls in AZ are outdoor. But once you got into the belly of the mall that when you realized, so that is why they call it a Fashion Park. (insert Fergie's Labels and Love here)
There was Coach, Cartier, Godiva, Saks, Dolce and Gabana, M*A*C, Ralph Lauren, Fendi, I could go on forever. And these people we soooo Snooty! Except for Coach, they were super nice peeps. It's like take a pill or xanex in their case. But I went into every store, and it just reminds me that I don't want to be rich, comfortable yes, but not rich. Plus I was only $3000 short for a Dolce and Gabana suit I saw. But really it was a insane mall and the only stores I really would go back to their and buy something is the Apple Store and Vera Bradley. We then wrapped up that day at Red Lobster.
Day 4 THANKSGIVING! Okay honestly this day was at first hard to plan, we didn't really go out there with a plan of what we were going to do, and my bro didn't really put one togther b/c he had only been out there for a couple of months so he was just as lost really ha ha. At first my brother was like why don't we go to the casino on the indian reservation? We thought that was a good idea, so we loaded up and headed 30 min south the Chandler. Beautiful place, undeveloped, so much potienial honestly. We get to the Casino, and just had a great time. My dad gave us like $20 each, and we played the 2 & 5 cent slots. It was fun. My dad went and play a slot that took $1.00. He WON! $63.00! In the mist of this happening me and Nicole (bro's GF) were finding other slots, my brother then ran up to me and was like Dad just WON! We litterally started running back to the slot and we all at the same time were like "CASH OUT!!!" After an hour there we decided to call it a day. It was a nice place. As we were walking out we see this place called Rawhide. Now, my dad was desperate on this trip to see something cowboy! And we unfortnaly couldn't get up with anyone at the Tombstone place, so we thought maybe this won't happen. But right there beside the casino was Rawhide. So we decided to head on over there to see if they were open. AND THEY WERE! So you all know how we spend the rest of the day.
This place was so fun, I could honestly go into everything that happened, but it might be best to check out some of the video and pictures on myspace, and youtube. We ended the day at Rawhide at their steakhouse where I had the best steak EVER!!!! and we actualy ate wait for it......RATTLESNAKE! Trust me peeps it really taste like chicken, and they way they fried it, calimari, but without the fishy smell lol. It was really good. And b/c we ate it, we all got certificates. It was sweet. Then we hung out once more at my bro's place and went back to hotel to get ready for the flight out tomorrow.
It was a great end to a great trip until.....
The next day we got up and picked my bro up so we could go back to the Mall where his GF had to work that black friday, and we said our goodbyes. We went to the airport, returned our rental which was a kick ass Suburu Impreza. Side note if you want a great car that is excelent on gas and not a hybrid this is the car! it has both Automatic and manual transmition, and i know that b/c i found it out the hard way he he. But was a pleasure to drive and I am actually looking into one. Okay so back on track, we get the aiport, turn the rental in, take the shuttle bus to the airport, b/c the rental car place is totally seperate from the airport, again trust me they have their crap together. So we are finally there and we go through the gate and stuff, and we are sitting there and have plenty of time before our flight, and i decided to play with my iPhone. Looking in my bag I couldn't find it. I was sure I had it. Well couldn't find it still. I started to panic. Maybe I dropped it I thought. So even thought I was panicing I went to the airline peeps and was like can you call back up the ticket counter to make sure they didn't find it or whatever, he was like no joke he was like "yeah but you arn't getting something like that back." Okay so yeah I knew that if I really lost it, I wouldn't. I mean its and Iphone. So anyway, nothing. So since we had plenty of time i took a shuttle bus back to the Rental car place, and tried to locate my vehicle which had already been moved. So when I got there the manager was helping me looking in all the lock boxes, and nothing. So I was really starting to go over the edge. Finally they took me to where they washed the cars and nothing. I found the car, and inside i between the seats there is was! See the inside of the rental is all black, and so is the phone ding! and all week things kept falling down in between the seats. So anyway, I was a lucky little shiz in finding my phone, and my heart restored back to the normal pumping compacity.
We got into RDU about midnight, and drove home almost fell asleep at the wheel but when i got home i slept my life away. But all in all it was an incredible trip and I know i didn't even get to the half of it here, but you get the gist. The weather was sooo nice, i had the sunroof open the whole time i was there, and just beautiful sunshine, of course other then the partial thanksgiving day rain. And its funny b/c they treat rain like NCians treat snow. It was quite halarious. The traffic wasn't horrible but the peeps out there can't drive at all, and I mean at all. I almost got ran over twice!!! Anyway, I had a great time and can't wait to go back. If anyone has any questions about AZ let me know, i will answer them the best I can. So check out the pics and video, I am updating them constantly.
Well that is it. I think this is the longest blog I have ever had ha ha.
Next stop JAPAN! So stay tuned!
