PASSPORT TO THE WORLD (CONT)

OKIE DOKIE, now that I am home, I can continue my bloggage. As you can see from my last blog I got my passporte! I'm so excited. After messing with my camera for like 100 years I think I got a good pic of me and my new passporte! check it!

I messing around with my Photo Booth on my mac and got this cool little ditty with a polka dot background. Groovy huh? I think so. Although I'm still having trouble operating it. I also snapped some photos of the books I will be using in Japan. These books are great! These specifically uses these books, and though the school gives them to you when you get there, and it is actually included in your tuition, I couldn't wait and wanted to get a head start. Well that is if I can get to understand the book, seeing how it is all in JAPANESE!!! I'll get it. Here are the books.

On the top these are the work books, and CD books, and answer book. On the bottom are the text books. There are only two volumes. I will probably only need one b/c I won't be there that long and probably won't get to that book while I'm there, but I will probably take all of them just in case. When you get there you have orientation, that is when they give the female travelers personal alarms. No matter where you are if you are in danger you push that little alarm, and help comes running. Also cell phones will be for rent for about $5.00 a week. Cool huh? They use to be $10.00. I will probably get one so that I can talk to peeps within Japan, but for everything else skype! So now that I am totally on my way to Japan, I am getting excited. I really now just need to buckle down and study all I can while I finish saving for the trip. I am trying to prepare as much as possible for all things. Going on a trip like this as you know is no joke. And I'm gonna be honest even these far out, I am nervous. I have been out of state before and stuff like that, but never out of the country. But the great thing about the school is someone is waiting for you when you get off the plane, well rather at your apartment. They will show you a little bit about it, then your own your own. I plan to arrive Saturday night so that I can take Sunday and get a little settled. The first week I know is going to be crazy!

Before I go I promised links to help all of those who are interested in learning Japanese. I will give you these links, in addition you can find them on your right, in my KP's LINKY LINKS section, if you ever need to find them quick. Any new links or interesting ones that I post in the future will be posted here. I hope you enjoy these sites, I sure do and they really really help. Until next time here is a happy bunny as well to keep you held over.

The Japan Shop - I got my books from here. The books do come directly from Japan, but this store gets them from there and they are located in Florida, so you wait time for them is a week not months.

YesJapan - This site is great! It has all kinds of things you can do to learn Japanese. Although not free, there are different monthly fees depending on which tier you get, they have a free 7 day trail before you buy.

Flashcards - This site is really neat in it has flashcards for just about anything you are learning, or taking in school. Seriously! This site is free, although if you want advanced feature there is a one time, lifetime membership fee. Is $20.00, not bad.

Tokyo Mokyo - This site is created by a teacher I believe. On this page that I have linked it to, they have practice sheets for the Japanese characters. I must say I love this site for doing that. I have looked high and low and this site hit it right on the head. I print these sheets out and it helps me so much. I even tells you which stoke to draw first, which is really important.

Ecentral - This site isn't for learning Japanese, but it is the best site to find a job in Japan. This site is in english, but some do have Japanese. It is really cool b/c it has jobs that you can search if you only know english and things like that. I love it and there are great jobs up here!

These are all I have for now, along with the others like SharedTalk that I put in earlier blogs. I hope you take a moment to visit these and hope that they help. And if you have a great site you would like to share let me know! I will put it up here. And now a final thought from Happy Bunny....
